ORGANIST VACANCIES
Regrettably, it has proved to be no longer practical to host all vacancies on the website. However, there will occasionally be vacancies notified where these are likely to be of particular interest outside the immediate area.
Dunkeld Cathedral: Organist and Director of Music
The Parish of Dunkeld Church of Scotland is looking for an experienced organist and
Director of Music. Working with the Minister, you will be responsible for music during
the weekly Sunday Services in Dunkeld Cathedral and in the winter months in Little
Dunkeld Kirk as well as occasional evening Sunday services as required. This is a part-
time appointment.
Dunkeld Cathedral has a Bevington pipe organ (two manual with pedal board) and a
digital piano. Little Dunkeld Kirk’s pipe organ requires some remedial attention, and
also has an acoustic piano. There is a choir of about 16 singers who contribute to the
weekly services and a small band of enthusiastic musicians who take part regularly.
We are looking for someone with the skills and enthusiasm to develop music within the
congregation and to encourage participation in music-making in our services.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable
Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful applicant will be required to join the PVG
Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update Check prior to taking up post.
Further information about the post and an application form are available from the
minister, the Revd Fraser Penny, email: RPenny@churchofscotland.org.uk
